bolov0 at Pro Tour: San Juan - Top 64, Part One - Mana Deprived - Relevant Magic: the Gathering Strategy
[Thiago Saporito, better known as bolov0, is actually also one of the top-rated players in real-life MTG.  He is currently ranked 55th in the world with a DCI rating of 2087.  Proving that he is not merely an online player, Thiago was able to finish in the top 64 at the most recent Pro Tour (PT San Juan).  In Part One of his tournament report, he talks about the matches he played on Day 1 (5 rounds of Block and 3 rounds of ROE Draft).  --KYT] (more)

Quick Thoughts on Mythic vs. Polymorph - Mana Deprived - Relevant Magic: the Gathering Strategy
My last post talked about how I am currently considering taking out the Telemin Performaces in Vengevine Mythic's sideboard due to many factors.  Mono Red is a more popular deck and Kor Firewalker is a more effective card against them than Telemin Performance is against Polymorph.  But before doing anything drastic, I decided to ask our resident Polymorph expert, Vincent Thibeaullt, how he felt the Mythic-Polymorph match-up is supposed to turn out.  He most recently won a PTQ with it. Grand Prix Washington has come and gone.  When all the dust cleared, the familiar decks took most of the top 8 slots and the one deck that was dominating the online PTQs for the last few months took down the whole momma jamma as Brad Nelson (better known as FFFreak) won the GP with gold old UW Control.  Does that mean nothing innovative came out of this tournament?  We cannot exactly say that because with 17 Swiss rounds, even the best deck is going to need a lot of luck to make it all the way to the top...
