MTG Metagame: Polymorphing My Way to Top8 [Extended]
Alright dudes- I only have limited time to write this thing (“Real Life” is standing in front of me and making threatening gestures). MTG Metagame: Midwest Master Series [Standard]
I layered the bedding on the floor between the sink and the wall. It was much warmer here then by the door. I crunched into my cave-like sleeping hole. The hotel fridge kept me from fully extending my legs. It was 2am and I was still awake. The Midwest Master Series in Indiana was seven hours away. MTG Metagame: Ziggurat "Bear" Control WGBu [Standard]
The deck is in concept form but I wanted to get the conversation started. The deck takes advantage of Ancient Ziggurat to play multifunctional creature that allow you to “soft lock” your opponent. All of your creatures are white so Brave the Elements protects them from removal as well as lets you swing through their team if they have blockers. The deck is also packing what I call "PLAN B" (Plan Baneslayer Angel), which consist of hoping for an unanswered turn five Baneslayer and flying into victory. ... (more)

“Jund is Taking Over the World.” That was the title of my last blog for standard and that has come to fruition.  Five of the top eight decks at the latest SCG 5 were servings of the BGR Bloodbraid salad known as Jund. Here is the link to the Top 16 Don’t Panic I am hearing murmurs on the forums that "Jund is the new Fae" - it’s not. Jund was a Tier 1 deck at the end of last season and it stayed in tack after rotation. It has the thousands of hours of testing under its belt so it stands to reason ... (more)

Jund is taking over the world! [Standard]
I did some testing with my Bant deck against some of the Friday Morning (Midnight Madness) Drafters. The order of the day was Jund followed by Vampires. I have to say that the Jund deck is really good. I should distinguish that the Jund that I am talking about is Jund Aggro, not Jund Mid-Range. The week before every pre-release I do research on the coming set. This research isn’t about what cards to play in my sealed deck or what the top draft picks are; instead this research is based on getting the most out of the weekend financially, through enhancing my collection and building up my trade stock. I’m not a big-time dealer but I sell enough cards to support my habit and kick-in on the home-front when needed. It's hard to find someone who will say that Lotus Cobra is just plain bad. The general consensus is Lotus Cobra is good, but the question is How good?
