Ordinarily, my vanguard deck building process is to look at an avatar, think of what would go well with its ability, and go from there. Today's decks work backwards though. With each of these, I started with a regular card that I liked so much it made me scour the list of avatars to decide what would go well with it. (more)

Hello hello hello! Quite a week for MTGO. If you haven't heard.. we're getting PTQ's. Quite a few, actually! I think this is good news for MTGO but as always there's more than one side to every coin. This coin has two very varying sides. On the positive side this will assuredly bring more players into MTGO. On the scary side it underscores a lot of issues of collusion that have always plagued MTGO. I look forward to seeing the impacts that these announcements have for MTGO. (more)

A couple of weeks back I interviewed DCI program manager Scott Larabee about the 2010 Pro Tour schedule—a schedule which indicated that there would be PTQs taking place on Magic Online for the first time in the history of the Pro Tour.
