The term “cheap” is a pretty relative term. Some people can’t afford to throw down $300 for a whole new 75, while others have no problem throwing down $300 for one card (Have you seen the price of beta Underground Seas?). Throughout this series, we’ve seen decks vary anywhere from $130 to $500. Control Magic – Playing Deedstill
So on February 11th, I decided to put my money where my mouth is. As many of you know, I just wrote about a deck called Deedstill or BUG visions, whichever you prefer. Welcome back to Breaking into Legacy! This week, we’re going to cover the decks that Legacy is known for – combo. Sure, aggro is alive and well in Legacy, but apart from Vintage, it’s the one of the few formats where you can achieve the coveted turn 1 kill. Believe it or not, even turn 1 kills are cheap. Oh Legacy. The format of broken degeneracy, insane combos, and giant monetary swings that seem to happen overnight. We're lucky to have just had a Legacy Grand Prix in Columbus this past weekend, since the Gen Con Legacy Championships are just a few days away. The Legacy tournaments at the Black Lotus Store in Barcelona are probably the biggest weekly events in the world. With an average turn out that might hit the 35 players, Black Lotus has become an excellent place to practice Legacy at a real high level.
