Five bells rang simultaneously in my head, like alarm clocks going off for days. That's what I heard when I saw the spoiler last weekend when all 5 of the enemy fetchlands were spoiled at PAX. Air Elemental is the best card. Large flyers generally are; they give you inevitability as well as trumping most cards the opponent will play. Rod of Ruin is fine, but very slow. Veteran Swordsmith, Deadly Recluse, and Dread Warlock are the desirable ‘fair’ cards in the pack. (more)

So it has been a while since I have even thought about writing in this blog about Magic. I had a less than stellar performance at the PTQ in Indianapolis and there has not been any events within range to justify traveling for. I have been playing a lot of MODO most recently. Jund decks have been popular in Standard for some time. But Dev used this list to win a recent Premier Event on Magic Online. The format? Kaleidoscope, which requires all players use cards that are multi-colored. Savage Twister and Terminate keep the board cleared, while spells like Anathemancer and Lavalanche punish opponents in the late game. As a backup?
